How We Operate
The hydraulic industry has been around a long time, and so have we. We hold on to what works — and we’ve modernized everything customers wish other shops would.
Talk to a real person, every time. No phone trees. No tickets that disappear. No waiting three days for a callback. The number on this site rings into our shop — pick it up and we’re here.
We disassemble and inspect every component first — then send you photos and a clear quote. Nothing happens until you approve it. You see what we see, and you decide what gets fixed.

Quick disconnects let you couple and uncouple hydraulic circuits in seconds with minimal fluid loss — no shutting the system down, no wrench, no mess. But couplers built to different international standards aren’t interchangeable, and choosing the wrong style can mean leaks, contamination, locked-up lines, or a fitting that won’t connect when there’s residual pressure in the hose. Below is a plain-English tour of the main styles, what each one solves, and the visual clues that help you identify what you have.
Trying to identify a coupler on a machine? Compare what's in your hand to the photos below. Look at the face (flat vs. recessed poppet), the locking method (snap-ring ball lock, screw collar, wing nut), and any standard markings on the body. We stock or source Stucchi across every style shown here; because each style is built to an international standard, a Stucchi coupler will mate with any other supplier's coupler of the same standard.
1
The classic ball-locking push-to-connect. The workhorse of the industry.
BIR SERIES ISO A Interchange Size: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2 Thread: NPT, SAE, BSP
ISO 7241-A
Round body with a recessed poppet on each half. Outer sleeve pulls back, releases ball detents, you pull straight off. Compatible with US "Pioneer 4000-series" style.
Fast, tool-free disconnect of standard industrial circuits at moderate pressure. Some oil drips on disconnect — acceptable for shop and many mobile uses.
Older agricultural equipment, industrial hose ends, shop hydraulic carts, log splitters, general utility couplings up to ~3,000 psi.
Stucchi line: A-Series. Built to ISO 7241-A — fully cross-compatible with Pioneer 4000 and other ISO 7241-A couplers from any supplier.
IRB SERIES ISO B Interchange Material: Steel, Brass, 316 Stainless Steel Size: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1 Thread: NPT, BSP
ISO 7241-B
Looks similar to Series A at a glance but is a different diameter and thread pitch — will not mate with Series A. Stamped markings on the hex are the safest tell.
Same job as Series A, but with the dimensions and seal arrangement common to European-built machinery.
European-spec industrial equipment, imported machine tools, some construction equipment, presses, and balers.
Stucchi line: B-Series. Mates with any ISO 7241-B coupler regardless of supplier.
2
The modern standard for mobile and environmentally-sensitive work
A PREMIER SERIES 10 ISO 16028 Interchange Size: 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1, 11/4, 11/2 Thread: NPT, SAE, JIC, ORFS
ISO 16028
The face is completely flat when uncoupled — no protruding poppet. Smooth surface allows wipe-clean before mating. Sleeve-style ball lock similar to Series A.
Virtually no oil spill on disconnect and no air ingestion on connect — major win for the environment, contamination control, and clean operator hands.
Modern skid steers, mini-excavators, attachment circuits, mobile construction equipment, and any application where cleanliness and EPA compliance matter.
Stucchi line: IRB / FIRG series. Interchangeable with any ISO 16028 coupler from Faster, Parker, Eaton, and others.
A PREMIER INTERNATIONAL SERIES 16 ISO 16028 Interchange Size: 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2 Thread: BSP, DIN
Severe Duty
Flat-face design like ISO 16028 but with a reinforced body, larger sleeve, and often a higher pressure rating stamped on the hex. May include a locking ring to prevent inadvertent disconnect.
Standard flat-face couplers can struggle with high-impulse circuits or vibration. The heavy-duty version handles spikes and impulse without poppet damage.
Demolition attachments, attachments swapped under load, severe vibration environments, and circuits that see frequent pressure spikes.
Stucchi line: APM / IRB-HD families — built around the ISO 16028 envelope with reinforced internals.
3
When the work is rough and the pressures are extreme
External thread instead of a snap-ring sleeve. You couple by hand-threading the halves together — no quick-snap. Often hex-shouldered for a wrench.
Push-to-connect couplers can be blown apart by impulse pressure or vibration. A threaded coupler stays locked under shock loads, vibration, and tens of thousands of impulses per hour.
Hydraulic hammers, rock breakers, pile drivers, demolition shears, anywhere the line sees hammering impulse loads or pressures above ~5,000 psi.
Stucchi line: IRSA / VRP series. Same standard, fully interoperable with other ISO 14541 couplers.
ISO 14540
A larger, thicker-walled version of the threaded style, often with flat-face sealing built in. Designed to handle even higher impulse loads and zero spillage at very high pressures.
Combines the security of a threaded connection with the no-spill, no-air-ingestion benefits of flat-face design.
Mining attachments, heavy demolition, tunnel-boring auxiliary circuits, and high-pressure test stands.
Stucchi line: APM-FF screw-style and ISO 14540 catalog parts.

When residual pressure makes ordinary couplers impossible to mate
Up to 10,000 PSI – High Pressure Series Coupler
CUP
Looks like a flat-face coupler at first glance, but has a small internal pressure-relief or piston system. Some variants use a screw-assist sleeve for the final engagement.
An operator can't connect a normal coupler when oil is trapped in the line by sun heating or by leaving the equipment under load. CUP couplers vent that trapped pressure during engagement so the connection always completes.
Skid-steer attachments left in the sun, hydraulic toolbars on tractors, agricultural implements stored under pressure, mobile fleet equipment.
Stucchi line: VEP series. The VEP is the flagship Stucchi solution for this problem and is widely cross-referenced by skid-steer and tractor OEMs.
IVHP Thread-To-Connect High Pressure Series Coupler up to 10,000 PSI
CUP
Threaded outer ring you hand-tighten. The threading action provides the mechanical advantage to overcome trapped pressure during connection.
Same trapped-pressure issue as the flat-face CUP, but in heavier-duty service where the operator may need to mate against substantial residual pressures.
Industrial attachment changes, severe-service mobile equipment, applications where coupling reliability outweighs connection speed.
Stucchi line: Variants of the VEP / APM screw-assist families.
5
When you need to connect several lines at once — or none of the above
Single motion connection of multi-coupler plates
A machined plate carrying multiple couplers (often flat-face) in a fixed pattern, joined by a lever or screw mechanism. One lever connects every line at once.
An attachment with 4–8 hydraulic circuits would take minutes to hand-couple and risk mismatching lines. A multi-plate connects everything in one motion, in the correct order.
Attachment-heavy machinery: skid steers, telehandlers, forestry heads, dredges, and any equipment where a tool change happens multiple times per shift.
Stucchi line: MultiFaster and similar modular plate families — flat-face couplers ganged on a machined block.
Care
Colored rubber or plastic caps and plugs sized to mate with specific coupler halves. Bright colors (yellow, red) make them hard to lose.
An uncapped coupler is a contamination magnet — dirt, water, and trash enter the half that's not connected, then get pushed into the system on the next connection. Dust caps stop the entry of contamination at the source.
Every well-maintained mobile or industrial machine, attachment storage, replacement and service kits.
Stucchi line: Caps and plugs for every coupler series above — ordered alongside the coupler they protect.
Email a clear close-up of your coupler face and the hex markings, along with the equipment make and model. We’ll identify the standard, source the matching Stucchi part, and ship it — usually within days. Mix-and-match between brands is fine as long as the standard matches.
